PrimePort Permit to Work
1. A permit to work is required for.
- Crane lifts.
- Hot work (on wharf areas).
- Diving within the port or channel.
2. There are certain high risk activities that require PrimePorts approval. An authority to work is required to undertake the following work.
- Working in a confined space.
- Working at height, above 5 meters.
- Demolition of wharves and buildings.
- Pile driving.
- Excavation or penetrations into ground or wharves.
3. How to apply?
Fill out the online form.
4. Allow 48 hours for permit processing.
5. You will receive confirmation via email, work cannot proceed without a valid permit.
6. It is the responsibility of the permit applicant to notify Maritime NZ of particular hazardous work.
This does not relieve the requirements to notify Maritime New Zealand of Particular Hazardous Work as required under Regulation 26 of the Health and Safety in Employment Regulations (1995).
You must provide Maritime New Zealand with 24 hours notice of work that is particularly hazardous.
